Clubhouse

The superb clubhouse dates back 1923, and has been regularly updated since then. It was refurbished during 2000/2001 to coincide with the hosting of the Mercedes-Benz South African Open.  The most recent of the many changes is the golfers bar and lounge, built on the old practice putting green, next to the pro shop and change rooms. It enabled ELGC to provide a comfortable home for golfers and allow the club to keep the upstairs area for functions and events.

Halfway House
Although the club is steeped in the past some relics have disappeared, making way for more functional buildings. One of these was the old ‘Tea house’, a delightful venue tucked away between the 10th and 16th greens. Tiny, cramped, but packed with atmosphere, it was simply too small. The recent replacement is a highly functional Halfway House.

Golf Shop and Driving Range
ELGC is renowned for its casual atmosphere and friendly service. Both of which are embodied in the golf shop and driving range. Visitors, wanting an outstanding golfing experience, are more than welcome. Experienced caddies are on hand. There are ample golf carts but they should be booked in advance, The shop handles all bookings and carries all golfing necessities. It works in tandem with the shop at the driving range, which has everything a golfer needs, from clubs to clothing.  The driving range is superb. It is over the road from the course.  Professionals are on hand for lessons and advice.

Snacking
A bar menu is available for golfers, serving breakfast, lunches, light snacks, and large snack platters for golf groups at prize-giving.
